Dear Friends,
While today didn’t turn out as I would’ve liked for our campaign, it was a great day for our party as we united behind Jim Meffert as the DFL candidate who’s going to beat Erik Paulsen this fall.
As the Minnesota House Majority Leader, Paulsen presided over record-property tax increases and an extreme right-wing social agenda. Since going to Congress last January, he has stood in the way of progress on the economy, health care, the environment and education. Meanwhile, Jim’s built a strong track record of fighting for children and families across Minnesota and will give voters a clear and easy choice in this election.
I’m so grateful to everyone who supported me today and throughout our campaign. This has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life and it’s been a real honor and privilege to have worked with you for the past six months. Your passion for our party and our country has renewed my optimism for America’s future.
Our campaign for the DFL endorsement has come to an end, but I know our larger effort—to usher in a new era of opportunity for all—must continue and will. Please join me in standing with Jim, and working with him, so we can win in November and move our state and country forward.
Sincerely,
Maureen Hackett, M.D.
